CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENTS

Devru Construction is aware that as one of KZN’s major construction groups, it has a responsibility to uplift the communities in which it operates. Aware of the principle that pockets of wealth cannot be sustained in a sea of poverty, the Group is dedicated to using its influence to bring BEE sub-contractors into the fold.

The Group is also involved in several upliftment programmes. These initiatives include:

 
•  Assisting Motala heights School Apollo Secondary School, Heather Secondary
   School (as shown below) and Christ International by sponsoring their various fundraising
   events
•  Helping with the building of a school for the blind
•  Donating funds to East Coast Radio’s Toy Story which distributes toys to underprivileged
   children at Christmas time
•  Sponsoring the material to build a sports pavilion at Eastbury Secondary School
•  Building a fence for Hillcrest Primary School
•  Assisting RP Moodley School with tarring, fencing and the construction of an awning
•  Sponsoring sports uniforms and events for Rydalvale Sporting Club
•  Supporting a Hindu project and other activities at Shree Bhagavata Vedanta Gurukul Temple
•  Supporting a public feeding scheme at Shree Gengayammen Alayam Temple
•  Sponsoring Deepavali events at Verulam Deepavali Hamper Group
•  Support to the following charities; Cancer Association, DAFTA, Durban  Association for the
   Aged and St Martin’s Diocesan Home for Children
